KITNERBOY REDOUBT
The page that makes the rest of the site worth reading

Method, disclosure, corrections

A directory is only as good as its rules for being wrong. Here are ours, in full, including the ones that cost us money.

How entries are ranked

They are not. Entries are sorted, never scored. Sorting keys are the certified class, the year of the certificate and the country — all facts published by somebody else. This desk invents no stars, no “editor's choice”, no scale of its own.

The reason is practical as well as ethical: an invented ranking that contradicts a certificate is a claim about a product's quality, and a maker is entitled to take that seriously in court.

What this site collects about you

Nothing. No cookies are set, no analytics script runs, no fonts are loaded from anyone else's server, no account exists to create. Pages are static files; the server keeps ordinary access logs and discards them on a rolling basis.

This is a design decision as much as a privacy one: a site with no accounts, no database and no third-party code has very little left to break into.

No corrections yet. The first one will appear here with its date.

Corrections are added, never substituted. The wrong sentence stays visible with a line through it in the page history, because a reference that quietly rewrites itself cannot be cited.

Standing offer to manufacturers If an entry about you is wrong, send the document. The row changes within a week and the change is logged above with your name on it, unless you ask otherwise. If you disagree with an entry that is correct, your reply is published next to it, unedited.

Legal position

This site is unofficial and unaffiliated with any motion picture, studio, manufacturer or certification body named on it. Trade marks are used descriptively, to identify products. No logo of any manufacturer forms part of this site's own branding. The name of this site refers to a fictional container in a 2003 film; no connection with that film's rights holders is claimed or implied.
