Find someone who opens safes for a living

A locked safe is not a door. The trade that fixes it is small, unevenly documented, and full of general locksmiths who will subcontract your job to somebody neither of you has met. This directory is being built to fix that, one checked entry at a time.

01

Free, and unbuyable

Listing costs nothing and position cannot be bought. Advertisement, if it ever appears, sits outside the list and is labelled.

02

Checked before published

Business registration, safe-specific work, insurance, references — and what they demand as proof of ownership. The full procedure.

03

Empty rather than invented

Where we have nobody verified, the page says so and sends you to the trade registers. No filler entries, ever.

A DIRECTORY THAT LISTS ANYONE IS WORSE THAN NONE. It vouches for a stranger at the worst possible moment.

RegisterScope
SAVTA — Safe and Vault Technicians AssociationInternational, US-based. Founded 1986, a division of ALOA. The only association devoted specifically to safe and vault work rather than door locks.
ALOA Security Professionals AssociationUS, founded 1955. Runs education and certification for locksmiths.
Find a Locksmith (ALOA)ALOA's public search for member locksmiths.
Master Locksmiths Association — Find a LocksmithUnited Kingdom. Members are vetted and inspected; the register is public and free to search.
ECB·S — Audited Service Companies (R11)Europe. Companies audited to ECBS R11 for service, repair and modification of certified secure storage units — the only external audit aimed specifically at safe servicing.

These are associations that vet their own members. Searching them is free, and we would rather send you there than pad our own pages.
